No. 3470/25.

Mr. Andrews :

I have received a report from the Auditor

in connection with the matter referred to in (2),

and he has informed me that as a result of a

recent audit of the accounts relating to the

issue of Passports and connected documents,

financial irregularities were revealed in which

the following sums were involved.

(a) $1,155.78, being fees in respect of 118

visas granted, which were not brought to account.

(b) $280.00, representing 28 missing Passport

forms.

In addition, the Auditor reports that 117

application forms for visas were missing,

representing an unknown sum, but possibly in

the neighbourhood of $1,100.00.

The sum of $14.00 referred to in the

Governor's Despatch at (2) represents a fee of

$4.00 for an Identity certificate and a fee of

$10.00 for the issue of a passport which, as the

result of a query issued by the Auditor, were

confirmed
